In Belgium, you may drive an A-class scooter from the age of 16, these have a maximum speed of 25km/hour.
No driver's license is required to drive an A-class moped/scooter. (It does require insurance and registration of the vehicle).

To drive a B-class moped/scooter, you must be 16 years of age and hold a moped license. (AM)

Do you have a car license (B or BE) or motorcycle license (A, A1 or A2)?

Then you will have the moped license automatically added to your driver's license. (Please note: check your driving license before driving a moped/scooter)
You may then drive a B-class scooter with a maximum speed of 45km/h.

No, the price for an A-class or a B-class is the same.

No, this is not possible.
Once a vehicle was sold as e.g. A-Class, it cannot subsequently be changed to a B-Class. (This also applies the other way around)
So make sure you immediately pass on the correct version at the time of purchase.

Yes, the helmet is always mandatory, regardless of the duration of the ride or the weather, for both drivers and passengers of mopeds A (speed limited to 25 km/h) and B (speed limited to 45 km/h).

It is also recommended to apply for assistance insurance (towing, roadside assistance) and legal aid.

Insurance for moped or scooter averages between €150 and €200 per year.

Some of our models are equipped with keyless start system.
You can easily stop the scooter by pressing the open lock icon on the remote control.
Some models also already have a kill switch on the handlebars or under the seat. When you move this switch, the engine also shuts down.

The lithium-ion battery should be charged regularly to support its life.
If the scooter is not used for months, deep discharge may occur.
This can cause permanent damage to the battery.
So regular recharging is the message.

We recommend disconnecting the battery from your electric scooter during long downtime.
Store the battery in a dry and moisture-free place. (Room temperature)
Charge the battery at least every 14 days for a full charge cycle. (Even if the battery shows that it is full.)
Store the scooter in a dry place, preferably in a garage or under a carport. If this is not possible, we recommend putting a tarpaulin over the scooter.

This be sure to mention that the license plate should be delivered to your home and not ours.

(This is only for street legal vehicles, not off-road vehicles.)

A procedure that could involve a lot of time and travel. Your insurance office can handle everything through the new application in myminfin.
